Today's Mayfair Organ Concert is given by Theo Geileskey (King's College London), who will perform the following programme:
- JS Bach - Prelude and Fugue in G major BWV 541
- Reger - Benedictus Op. 59 No. 9
- Robert Schumann - Studies in canon form, No. 5 in B minor and No. 6 in B major
- Felix Mendelssohn - Sonata No. 3 in A major
- JS Bach - Trio Sonata No. 1 in E flat BWV 525 I. Allegro
As always admission is free with a retiring collection.
Theo Geileskey is organ scholar at both King’s College London and St Paul’s, Knightsbridge, and studies the organ with Darius Battiwalla. While an accomplished soloist, his main passion lies in collaboration, particularly with singers, where he enjoys exploring the intimate relationships between music and text.
He was recently appointed chorusmaster for King’s College London’s production of Purcell’s The Fairy Queen and has also worked as repetiteur and accompanist for Into Opera. His most recent collaborative project was a recital of art song at Southwell Music Festival, and his most recent solo recitals include performances at Manchester Cathedral, St Edmundsbury Cathedral, and the Royal Hospital School.
